Scott Simmons is the coach of nationally ranked NCAA DII Queens University of Charlotte He also coaches the athletes of the American Distance Project and is the co-author of the book Take The Lead: A Revolutionary Approach To Coaching Cross Country. He has led his college teams to five national championships and is a six-time NAIA National Coach of the Year.
Coach Simmons discusses the idea of catering training to an athlete and an event instead of having every athlete complete the same training and hoping for the best.
